    {img_0005.jpg} Susan Lucille Davis blogs regularly for Getting Smart and contributes to the blog, Voices from the Learning Revolution. As her day job, she teaches middle-school language arts at St. Mark's Episcopal School in Houston. She also has taught part-time for the CTYOnline, a program for gifted young people, out of Johns Hopkins University. In 2011-12012, Susan contributed to the Powerful Learning program as a Community Leader for the AIMS and ADVIS cohorts. As a teacher and administrator for Chinquapin Preparatory School, where she worked for seven years, she led PLP teams in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011. Also at Chinquapin, Susan served as a liaison for the Literacy through Photography program sponsored by Fotofest Inc. She first explored the topic of growing PLNs with new faculty at the ISTE Unconference in June of 2010. Susan has presented to ERB on blogging and transparency (with Renee Hawkins), to the Texas Association of Accredited Private Schools on the subject of reading and writing in the 21st century at that organization's January 2010 conference, as well as at the Texas Council of Teachers of English 2009 annual conference on the subject of digital storytelling (with Emily Neale). Susan and Larry, both of whom have been educators for AIMS schools, have been married for 14 years.

    Larry Kahn is Director of Academic and Information Technology at the Kinkaid School in Houston, Texas. Larry has participated for two years as a fellow for the independent schools cohort of the Powerful Learning Practice program. He has worked in information technology for 29 years and educational technology for the last 12 years. He has worked as a technical writer, computer programmer, trainer, IT operations manager, teacher, and technology director. As Director of Academic and Information Technology for The Kinkaid School, a K-12 independent school (1,300 students and over 200 teachers) in Houston, Texas, he started a laptop program for teachers, reinvented the school’s technology professional development program, unified the school’s databases, helped launch a curriculum mapping program, and grew the effective use of technology in classroom.
